LEAD DRILLING ENGINEER-ADRAR (H/F)

Mission :

  • Excellence in Health, Safety and Environmental performance.
  • Prepare well designs, drilling programmes and regulatory submissions in compliance with local statutory requirements and GTG corporate policies, standards and procedures.
  • Conduct well planning and ensure compliance.
  • Consider and involve respective disciplines and departments such as geology, reservoir, production, stimulation and completion in the well construction process as required. 
  • Prepare note de opportunities (NDO) scope of works (SOW) and appropriate specifications for procurement of GTG equipment and services. Take the required part in tender exercises and prepare required documentations.
  • Technical lead for assigned contracts. Responsible for managing the agreed relationship with service providers and in setting the KPIs with the Contract Owner and C&P Specialist
  • Provide input as required into preparation of permits and applications to statutory bodies to conform to local governmental and other agency requirements.
  • Prepare scoping, budgetary and AFE level well costs. Monitor field costs and analyse variances.
  • Monitor/measure performance against expectations. Analyse variances and act as focal point for lessons learned.
  • Coordinate and liaise with other GTG disciplines on well related issues.
  • Coordinate service company support to GTG. 
  • Liaise with and support well-site activities as directed together with the Drilling Superintendent and the Drilling Supervisor involved in the operations. 
  • Work closely with the Drilling Superintendent, Drilling Supervisor, Completion Engineer and Completion Operation Department together.
  • Management of well construction performance improvement initiatives resulting from lessons learned.
  • Maintenance and up-dating of well design, drilling procedures manuals, and any applicable statutory guidelines.
  • Mentoring relevant engineers and operational staff as required.
  • Develop wells to an appropriate state of readiness to facilitate rig selection and well allocation.
  • Ensure that long lead material and equipment are identified for procurement on time. 
  • Initiation of shallow hazards assessment and borehole surveys.
  • Optimise performance where possible by appropriate application of new technology.
  • Scheduling of material and personnel required to meet program objectives.
  • Implementation of lessons learned system in relation to drilling operations. 
  • Accurate and timely reporting of all program activities.
  • Maintenance of end of well records, lessons learned and complete well files.
  • Encourage good, open communications with contractors, promoting a culture of involvement and participation Submission of all drilling permits and permissions required to meet drilling plan.

Profil :

Education: University Degree (Bac+5) – Drilling Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or similar. 
IWCF Well Control Certification (Level 4)
Experience:  9 + years well engineering and site supervision - preferably in onshore drilling operations.
Languages: Ability to work in English. French would be of benefit.
